CBSE march to excellence
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has drawn up an elaborate roadmap to make its functioning more prolific and academically brilliant in the coming years.
To begin with, the board has decided to extend its continuous assessment system till Class X from 2007 onwards.
CBSE chairman Ashok Ganguly, while addressing conference with school principals this morning, said We have decided to take the continuous assessment system up to the secondary level and this time it would be evaluated on a nine-point scale, rather than the five or seven-point scale adopted for junior classes.

MUSCAT — Fourteen-year-old Adarsh Muthappa, who has dominated the junior tennis scene in Muscat since the year 2003 was felicitated by the Indian Social Club Muscat for his outstanding excellence in tennis.
Adarsh received his excellence award, a glittering crystal plaque from Kiran Asher, group managing director of Al Ansari Trading Enterprises.
Announcing the felicitation at the clubs 30th annual day celebrations, ISC Sports Secretary Imtiaz Usman commended Adarshs hard work and dedication to tennis which not only made him the envy of his opponents but also commanded their respect.
CBSE declares datesheet for Class X, XII exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the detailed programme for the 2007 Class-X and Class-XII examinations.
The class-X exam will start on March two and begin with the Social Science paper. Mathematics is slated for March eight, while the date for English paper is March 16. The exam will be over on March 28.
The class-XII exam will start with Physics paper on March one and will be over on April 10. Accountancy paper is slated for March 15 and Economics on March 26.

Bihar: Matric exam schedule announced
Patna, Feb 1: The schedule for matriculation examination was announced with as many as 691012 students likely to appear for it. The examinations will be commencing from March 8 in the state at 1,021 centres.
The examination is being conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
The practical examinations would start from March 8 and would continue till March 10, BSEB secretary Vinodanand Jha said. The examinations for theory papers would commence from March 19 and would continue till March 26.

CBSE Board exams to start from March 1
The Class XII exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence from March one next year while the Class X exams will start from March two.
The Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) will be over by the second week of April whereas the Secondary School Examination (Class X) will be over by the end of March, the CBSE said in a release on Thursday.
The date sheet for both the examinations will be announced soon, it said.
