CBSE Tele-Counselling from 1st February to 31st March 2007
For the tenth year the first phase of CBSE tele-counselling help line will be functional from 1st February to 31st March 2007. As many as 42 principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated govt. and private schools, psychologistsfirst time from two new cities in Jabalpur and Jamnagar. Tele-counseling will be provided by these individual volunteers free of cost from 13 centres within the country. For the first time, this year two new centres have been set up outside India in Yemen and Sharjah. With this there are total five helpline centres including Dubai, Kuwait, Doha & Qatar operating abroad. and social scientists will operate this helpline individually from centres in Delhi, Chandigarh, Meerut, Noida, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bhubneshwar, Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Mumbai and for the
For better accessibility and convenience of the students, the centres have been arranged state-wise and students are advised to call the numbers closer to their location specially while dialing the mobile numbers. The detailed list is also enclosed for wider publicity.
Besides regular tele-counselling CBSE will offer counseling through a multi-tier system in order to enable more and more examinees to avail the facility of counseling reaching out especially to students in far flung areas.

CBSE declares datesheet for Class X, XII exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the detailed programme for the 2007 Class-X and Class-XII examinations.
The class-X exam will start on March two and begin with the Social Science paper. Mathematics is slated for March eight, while the date for English paper is March 16. The exam will be over on March 28.
The class-XII exam will start with Physics paper on March one and will be over on April 10. Accountancy paper is slated for March 15 and Economics on March 26.

CBSE helpline for students counselling
With examination round the corner, the CBSE will offer counselling to students through a telephone helpline for two months beginning this Friday.
As many as 42 teachers, psychologists and social scientists will operate the helpline individually from 13 centres including Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubhaneswar, Vishakapatnam and Coimbatore.
New centres have been set up in Yemen and Sharjah, taking the total number of such centres abroad to five, a CBSE release said today.

Model AIEEE 2007 exam in January
City-based AIMS Education will conduct a model All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on Sunday, January 21, 2007, in seven centres here.
School heads can register their school names with AIMS provided the number of students appearing for the examination from their institution is above 50.
Following this, discussion sessions by experts will he held on February 4 that can be attended bystudents who took the model examination.

CHENNAI: If the State Government move to secure 70 per cent of the seats in private self-financing colleges succeeds, the number of seats available in its quota for admission through Anna Universitys counselling and Single Window System (SWS) could cross 47,000 this year.
Sources familiar with the admission process say the number of seats with Anna University and its constituent colleges will be nearly the same — 1,565 and 2,770 respectively. But if non-minority private colleges surrender 70 per cent and the minority institutions 60 per cent, as discussed at Tuesdays meeting, over 43,000 seats from this pool of colleges
