Around 2500 athletes including 500 girls would be seen in action when the CBSE National Athletic Meet begins at the Maharaja’s Synthetic Track, here from January 4.
The five-day event being hosted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala in Ernakulam, is coming to Kerala, for the first time, Maya Mohan, Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, told mediapersons here today.
Besides children from India, participants from six countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman will also take part in the meet, which will get over on January 8.

On the second day of the Central Kerala CBSE School Youth Festival being held under Sahodaya Kottayam at Placid Vidya Vihar at Chethippuzha here on Wednesday, Marian Senior Secondary School, Kalathipady, Kottayam, emerged first with 278 points.

NCERT told to supply books on time
The Kerala High Court has made it clear that from the next year, the CBSE textbooks should be made available from May onwards.
The court made the observation while closing a contempt petition on Monday. The petition was filed by the Institute of Social Welfare.

ISM swimmers excel in zonal meet
Six gold medals for Aafaq Bhatri and five gold medals for Amit Thakur were the strong points of the success story of Indian School Muscats (ISM) participation in the CBSE Gulf Zonal Swimming Meet hosted by the Abu Dhabi Indian School recently.
In all ten swimmers from ISM had taken part in the meet and the team is currently taking part in the CBSE National Swimming Championship being held at Nagpur. The national meet will conclude tomorrow.
